Magic School is tHE
Multi-Tool for new teachers!

Recommended to me by a science teacher, Magic School is an application that uses AI to solve educator’s problems both big or small. Tedious jobs that we perform on a daily bases can be done for us in seconds! My favorites are down below.

  • Text can be scaffolded for readers or can be re-written in another
    grade-level

  • Creating engaging “Hook” activities in science that are specifically geared toward YOUR community’s location

  • Helps target misconceptions that you do not have to discover for yourself

  • Create Choice Boards by standard or topic, and what kind of activities you want to use

  • Create a Behavior Intervention Plan for specific behaviors you observe in a student and grade level

Rubrics

We all know that rubrics can make or break a project because it provides clarity to the student on what is expected in an organized (I like check lists) kind of way– but it also helps you when it is time to grade! However, to write a rubric for all assignments is quite daunting, and if it is a big project with many moving parts, it can be even confusing!

Accommodations

If your classrooms are like mine, I have a large array of students who have different needs. As a new teacher, you are probably rushing to get your plans set, make your copies, and maybe slides set up for the day. I am always needing to remember any accommodations I may need on hand. Magic School did a remarkable job giving suggestions and it was easy to make and save those changes with each assignment assigned.

Text Leveler

Learning how to read non-fiction text is critical in science classrooms, but not all children are built alike! I have some who are quite advanced and can handle high lexile reading levels, but then I have some who are still learning English as a first language and need more support in their reading skills. Text Leveler does quick work on scaffolding the text!
