Teaching & graphic design go Hand in Hand…

I began my graphic design career at the children’s publishing company, Evan Moor. In the marketing department, I created catalogs, marketing materials such as signs, banners, sell sheets, postcards, and online images.

Before the science classroom, I designed logos for the local school district. This included logos for the Annual Butterfly Parade and local elementary school.

Using Stemscopes as the bones of assigned classwork, I have made it more dynamic and interactive with digital slides made for students to work on in their Google Classroom. Students had access to a digital notebook, Stemscopedia was converted into interactive pages where students could highlight, take notes, and answer questons all on the same documnt.

In a Title I school where a high percentage of students are below grade-level standards in math & reading, it helped to add some adjustments. To increase readability, clarity, & more visuals in the handouts, leading & font size was increased, I added more contrasting segmentation , and incorporating more graphics.
